The stress and anxiety are getting worse, and the constant waiting is unbearable. I don’t know how anyone’s expected to focus or be productive with all of this going on.

this is very good advice.
Honestly if you're struggling that much with it don't come here. You're not going to get anything but more anonymous speculation. Take the steps you need to in order to be prepared then try to focus on other things. Torturing yourself won't help.
