Why do they post positions internally and also on their public job openings page of their website, yet when you apply, you ultimately get an email response that says "We're sorry but the position you have applied for no longer exists". This message comes anywhere from the next day to a couple of weeks later, yet the position is STILL posted and able to be applied for on their public job postings page of their website. Why the lie???

@1bb they are using AI to block US candidates from getting a position I think the only way people are getting other positions is their director/VP gets them the role or that team needs a certain amount of US employees due to the nature of work. The team I work on now is mostly offshore or older people 50s/60s would be surprised if there are cuts in the near future…
You can tell they use a AI to filter out applications as well. Just the other day I applied for 3 roles and within 5 minutes I received 3 emails saying I am no longer under consideration.
They keep positions posted to maintain the salary and benefits counted in the department budget, but they have no intention of filling it.
I applied for internal positions did probably like 250+, 2-3 rounds interviews for each, took like almost 3 years to get hired for a new position. Your managers and directors definitely block and sabotage people from moving on. And I hate the new position since before I even started they already changed what team I’m working on without notifying ahead of time. Hate this place will be quitting soon, super toxic and everyone I know is quitting or just no longer showing up for work…
Ding ding ding! "They have to legally open it even if they know who it's going to be."
When was the last time they actually hired someone stateside and not just fill it with a contractor or overseas hire? Contractors at this point aren't even US. Even in BS years of having to know someone to get a job in a different department are gone. It's overseas and contractors.
Why the lie? Optum HR and management lie because they can!!
Plain and simple; HR and management cannot be trusted.
I was a Manager at Optum and was let go. I applied for two Supervisor positions doing the exact same thing and was told I did not meet the requirements!, Really? Its all BS with this company.
The age old game of pre identified candidate. They just post and anypne applies it goes direct to the trash. A great deal if you win the popularity contest game and are the pre identified candidate. If you dont have an insider you will never get in.
They have to legally open it even if they know who it's going to be. I'd assume it just takes whoever posts it a while to remove it because they're slow or whatever.
