What happens to our laptops if we are laid off? Do we mail them back?

They will ask. Few years ago they didn't care. Now the company is cheap. They want it back even it is a very old one -- most likely they would just throw away.
I was able to keep my laptop, my Bluetooth mouse, and my Bluetooth keyboard. I keep them in trophy cases.
@ag Yes, I did. I was able to keep my phone and laptop - which was nice as when you're laid off the last think you want is another bill to pay. Ask nicely and you never know.
Why would you want to keep the POS Dell Laptop and old iPhone???? LOL
Typical remote worker question…think before you ask.
Stupid question
I never returned my laptop and no one asked for it. It worked for 6 months or so, then bricked and unusable.
@OP a friend in the last round was laid off and they refused to return the equipment. The company withheld their next payment until it was returned. Sadly you won’t win against them.
You will not get your severance & benefits without returning phone, computer and any other company owned items
I tried…
@ag they won't let you keep the laptop no matter what.
@ab if you keep it then it will become a brick. They are enrolled in MDM and they will brick it if you don’t return it. best advise is to ask to keep it.
Anyone have success in negotiating to keep their laptop after being laid off?
Keep it. They fired you. What are they going to do?
Depending on where you live they will send a courier to pick it up or like others said have you mail it
@OP They should send a box and mailing label for you to send it back.
Keep it. If they don’t ask, it’s yours. Play d-mb.
Yes .they will ask all the assets to be surrendered back
