For those who were let go as a result of forced ranking and made up poor performance, did you have any issues with getting state unemployment? I believe state would ask for reason for the job loss? What would BNY say? I understand misconduct could make one not eligible. How about this performance situation?

You cannot be denied unemployment for being fired without cause. It's even hard to be denied UE when being fired FOR cause
At first when filing state unemployment they told me the Bank said I resigned. After sending documentation to them the issue was resolved.
About 10 years ago I was a star employee and had an encounter with the compliance at some other company. My only regret is that I tried to resolve the situation instead of sending them to f themselves. From that moment I have zero tolerance with HR and anything that may be forced. Zero. I heard some people who had some bosses screaming at them and even throwing stuff. I want to see this happen with me.
So unless they absolutely physically tortured you to give your fine employee the PIP or tortured your kids, you simply had to tell your boss to go and Fing do it himself and put his signature on this sh*t, turn around and walk away. People who are weak and do dirty job are usually next in line for removal whether in business or military.
Back to the subject, BNY can only deny unemployment if you literally ki-led someone there. Otherwise their case is weak. The reason you can provide is simple workforce reduction and you will get your unemployment. I have first-had experience.
This is a very important question for desperate folks looking for answers here. I hope people who have been forced out will relay their experiences as well as which state was applicable for unemployment. Over 2 years ago I was forced to give a perfectly fine employee a ‘partial’ and did a PIP but in the end I was told that person had to go before the term of the PIP plan ended. That person (and myself) asked HR numerous times if they would be eligible for unemployment but they refused to give a yes/no answer. That person did apply and received UI from the state they live in. You would think that BNY wouldn’t care & would assent to the UI when asked, as it’s paid out of the state’s plan, but I believe that employers are assessed some sort of fee for each of their former employees that they do not contest unemployment payments. With the current cheap management here I’m sure they deny as many as they can saying no that the terminations are ‘for cause’
