Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Sound Familiar? Name the role!

Name the role that encompasses this toxic behavior!

(The biggest red flag at work is when no one ever disagrees with the boss to their face. Unless you want to be a target).

Here’s why:

  1. People are scared, not respectful, because speaking up feels like a career ending move.

  2. The boss is insulated from reality. If leaders only hear what they want, not what they need, they become dangerously out of touch. That’s how companies rot from the top down.

  3. It breeds a culture of fake smiles and resentment. Everyone plays nice in meetings, then tears the whole thing apart in private.

  4. Bad ideas go unchallenged. Without pushback, people make poor decisions.

  5. High performers leave. Fast. Talented people don’t stick around in echo chambers. They want to contribute, challenge, and grow, not tiptoe around egos.

You're right. But why would I tell him the truth? I'm not here for a career. I was retired. I'm here for some Italy travel money and that third porsche - it'll be a GT3 this time. Gramps has circled himself with me and his other Delta friends (not just C suite, but the new VPs too!) to tell him he's a smart business genius, not that he is old, losing a step, stuck in archaic ways, or just not comprehending dynamics and wrong.

I'm doing what I was brought here for. I want another Porsche. I want to go to expensive places with my free Delta flights. I'm absolutely st-----g that ego, I'm telling him he's a genius. He's the best and most amazing leader to be worshiped like the great giver of executive compensation that he is. I'll keep heading to the bank - I don't care that the company will tank. We will be landing our parachutes long before the truth comes out. Despite the many 'thank you' chat GPTs they make me send you, I don't care because I'm not here for the company. I'm here for me. Deltas are the Alphas, we will be better off regardless.

I think hertz should make cars more clean and make sales money better by being nice to the clean car employee and also the ones that sells the upsells which would make everyone happy all over including gold dogs they are pretty but should be sell more upsells they do look clean at least maybe like they get boarded in good places and not like the pound possibly.

We could list most of the c suite at Hertz embodied into these behaviors and many of their cronies brought for the ride. That’s ok as they will be gone after announcing one disaster after another in upcoming investor calls. The big question is will Hertz survive another so called “turnaround”? At what point will the Board pull the plug on this disaster of a company?
