In August this year, I declined the substantial position change to relocate to a core location. It’s now the middle of October and I have yet to receive the severance package paperwork to sign. Any idea why such a long delay? Thanks.

@bw mine was May/June. Last day in October. The waiting was torture.
Hint: your decline means they have to hire and train someone. That takes time. Then there are cost emergencies shortening and business emergencies lengthening. So it could be 30 days or it could be December 2027. It will happen.
@fb Me too. My hands are just itching to sign that severance paperwork. I’m salivating over the idea of getting out.
@c0 correct. It's been miserable....but with a year of severance coming, I've been maintaining 😂
@cf my bag is already packed. My lease is ending, soon. I’m ready to go, now. Please send me the severance paperwork to sign.
@ad Let it be weeks... Let it be weeks!!!
@c9 please enlighten me. What did I miss understand?
you obviuosly didnt read LOL typical
@by So, management actually gave you a severance target of nearly a year out? that’s unbearable, IMO… I’d probably have PTSD if I had to wait that long.
I received my relo in December 2024 with a targeted displacement date of Q4 2025 if not accepted.
@bw Now that information helps, immensely.
Anyone else recall the time between the relocation notice and the severance package notice? Thanks
I declined my relo offer in June/July of last year and got my layoff notice (60 days working) in September, with my last day in November.
@b9 I want to be laid off. Been trying for years. The holiday season is near and want to be long gone before then…
Sounds like you weren't laid off. I would keep a low profile and not say anything further. The job market is difficult.
They'll give you the date and paperwork at a future date. Just do your job in the meantime and take the severance.
They would never tell you that, because they cling to the hope that you'll voluntarily leave prior to whatever the date is.
@ad if my manager does not know my future layoff date after they contacted human resources, how can I find out my assigned future layoff date? Thanks.
Once you decline relo , they assign you to a future layoff date. Could be weeks or months.
This is how you know location strategy has absolutely nothing to do with your location. FHY.
