Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Unqualified Upward Movement

Anyone else notice some of the people with the worst leadership reviews actually got moved up the food chain? These shareholders wonder why Target is going downhill lol. People in power decide who they like and just make the decisions based on that and not on ability or qualifications.

I left Target because of the incompetent leaders in my function. None of them had any direct experience in this area, made tons of bad decisions with zero accountability, and piled excessive work onto their teams because they had no clue what a reasonable workload is or what was actually obtainable without properly resourcing their teams. I made my concerns known, and I was flagged as “not a team player”.

This has been the Target way for decades. My last “leader” was one of the d-mbest people I had ever met. Stole other’s ideas and had zero skills other than to interrupt meetings with redundant remarks.

@a4 none in particular. I worded it poorly. I just mean it feels like there are too many cliques and it’s not going to be the best get to stay and the worst go. I know there’s no promotions taking place, I just meant upward as in onward.

@OP I don’t mean anyone in particular or that anyone got promotions either, it just feels like they aren’t going to start either the actual problems and so many people will be protected that probably shouldn’t be. I worded that original post poorly.

@OP maybe not up the food chain but seem to be safe for some reason.
