Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

WFH Q

Mgmt used to be flexible about WFH and let us do it as needed... Now, out of nowhere, it’s a problem, reportedly because another manager complained. As a single mom and sometime WFH offers me flexibility - but it doesn’t sound like they’re willing to accommodate at all. Anyone had a similar problem?

One option to secure permanent WFH for diagnosed health issues (ex. anxiety, ADHD, ADD, depression, GI issues, PTSD, sensory processing, diabetes, gout, etc.), simply search for the ADA accommodation form on Iris- get it filled out by your PCP, who can submit directly to Cigna and your manager will not be privy to any of your HIPAA information, they will only be notified that you are WFH henceforth.

@p3

How can Cigna possibly survive without the crucial cross-functional collaboration, spontaneous communication, culture reinforcement, and all those wonderful things SLT gifted to us? I am worried about the future.

The anchor days in the CT office have been noticeably quieter in the last couple months. Not sure if it’s due to recent RIFs, the VRP, simple indifference to the RTO policy, or possibly some combination of the above.

Under workday > Time > Report Time > Enter Time > Time Entry codes there is an option for "Manager Approved - Work at Home" My manager said a specific reason needs to be documented if I will not be carding in that day, i.e. Service appointment, medical appointment, vehicle repair. Otherwise come in and scan the card, or take PTO.

Yeah, the ELT’s goal is to thin the herd without needing to pay severance. They might lose some good ones along the way but to them it’s worth the risk. And, they get tax breaks as well for “stimulating the economy”.
