I keep hearing that terms I reno became permanent. Also heard throughout california. How can I become permanent? How does that work? My local said unlikely but I can confirm Rwno nevada did it a few months ago. What's the workaround? If they allowed it it should be the norm now.

Use AUTS or National Transfer Plan to look for open recs. Make sure your resume is accurate. D9 CWA su-ks big time which is what you’re in. If you’re white I’m sorry they (CWA) hate you. Look at a non craft position or if you have military experience with or can obtain a clearance there are numerous roles for you. Workday or Att.jobs
I had to take a job as a manager in a call center in another state halfway across the country. I did a year and a half and then transferred. After that, I used the tuition reimbursement plan to go back to school on AT&T’s dime
I started as a term in 1995 (Leg-T). Became a regular employee 10 months later. Had several in our group upgraded.
Jobs had to go thru ATS first with no takers before a term is upgraded.
Terms were offered by best person, not seniority.
Term? Like a termite, term policy, term limit or terminator?
Depending on the contract, you may be able to participate in the internal job system after serving time-in-title. Terms have self-nominated for permanent jobs that way.

Someone can’t spell or is typing drunk.
Maybe that is why they are permanent, now.
You will soon be gone.
Actually, this is a question for your Local, not the WWW.
Apply for a permanent role. Term employment is a one way ticket to unemployment in every role
Terms rock!!
Get paid less
Worker harder
Much better attitude
Much smarter.
