@kq They give 2 S**ts about the NPS. It has fallen by double digits but yet they manipulate as so it doesn't look so negatively. Worst thing they ever did was scoop up EMC adopt all their products, people and processes. Dell NO LONGER has support, its now all BREAK/FIX. You want support or help Google it. Dell isnt going to spend $ on staff to support its products, all of which SU-K, except stuff they buy from someone else like Nvidia. Storage su-ks their support su-ks, its all about the bottom dollar. The reorgs net them NOTHING in the way of operating expense. They take away titles, no change in salary and think it will improve the bottom line. Dell is pushing for managers to have at least 30 people under them. In some instances that might work, but most it will make things worse, you cannot effectively manage, mentor and give career guidance to that many reports. All it does is make things look better on paper for a buyout

@mk Dell's HR cronies are once again downvoting anything that advocates for workers over the corporation.

Big surprise.

So glad I left this company.

@me Where I live, they'd be required by law to offer a layoff if they suddenly expected people to relocate to come into an office.

It's a good idea for people to look up these laws in their area and see if any similar provisions apply.

@kq what you guys are all missing is they want you to leave so they don’t have to pay you to go and they don’t care if they have to hire people back later and train them. Making people come to the office is the ultimate manipulation tactic to get people to leave without them having to pay anybody a dime. Their stock keeps going up as people keep leaving. They don’t care about people leaving. That’s what they want. And from a short-sighted perspective their stock is going up which is all they care about so good on ‘em
I guess.

I know this is a troll post but, in case it's not... this will never happen.
The amount of people that would quit/laid off for not complying would make the news and not in a good way... It would tarnish dell as being a good employer to work for and as we all know, they care a lot about that nPS score so...

It would force a LOT of very skilled people to quit, a lot of experts to quit, a lot of key people to quit and then dell will be left with a MASSIVE clusterfu-k because that person who was running the NDA project? Quit. That person who was the top level expert running a new DEV idea? Quit. That person who had a vital sales client? Quit.

It would lose dell a LOT of money to do this. Rehiring + training + background checks + issuing new equipment is not actually cheap. It'd cost far more to do all that than to just keep things as they are now.

Oh, look at the Indian who lives 2 minutes from the office and gets paid half of an American, trying to stir up sh-t. Go home! You’re taking American jobs, and do cr-ppy work! If not for your Indian boss you wouldn’t be here.

Whatever they announce I always have and always will ignore the RTO. They can fire me if they desire, but they won’t because I add enough value remote. I also lost all respect for them with their flip flop approach to hybrid word. Bunch of hypocrites

It really doesn’t matter how many employees are remote or on-site anymore — that policy is nearly a year old and has little impact now. Leadership isn’t actively tracking site visits; as long as employees are averaging about 3–4 days in the office, there are no questions asked. Remote arrangements are continuing as before.

Management’s focus has shifted to bigger priorities — particularly figuring out how to achieve the revised forecast of 7–9% revenue growth, among other challenges.

@d0 the Dell way.

They tried this approach in Montpellier, France, and ended up losing a large number of employees. They eventually had to rehire, which meant additional training costs and reduced revenue for the first five years. It’s a shortsighted and foolish solution.

This is sorta true. The % of remote to total is too high for the suits, they plan to bring it down.

Yeah big ol "press x to doubt". Top g-n is supposed to launch then, and they will be laying off a ton of people anyway. They wont have to reduce morale anymore through rto

I HIGHLY doubt this to be true... Considering the fact that a solid 50% at least do not work anywhere near an office. And, since Dell has no intentions of helping relocate... Those who are remote will simply quit; meaning they will lose a LOT of high value employees.

I also very much believe that dell will roll back the 5 day/in office to 3 days in office sooner than later.
