@ks Actually, you can keep naming brands - find one the Pepsi has grown after acquisition besides Gatorade.....(Rockstar, Kevita, Tropicana, Na--d Juice, ONE, Muscle Milk, Cr--ker Jack, Stacy's, SoBe, Pioneer Foods, Wimm-Bill-Dann, Health Warrior, Bare Foods, Sodastream, Izze, .....). They buy, build it up for a few years and then a new CMO comes in and abandons the brand by pulling A&M -then, it is a total decline and the sales team becomes apathetic trying to hold space on brands with no real news. Instead, R&D goes toward the 500th flavor of Lays or Mountain Dew or logo updates that cost millions of dollars to transition - especially when you change the major brand beverage logos. My guess, Poppi will be like Vitamin Water, Bai and Sparkling Ice - we think we have to get into the category because of growth and then it will decline, we'll lose interest and write off the brand.

Look, PepsiCo just needed the Poppi patent for the core brand. They'll shelf Poppi and send them to Dollar General.

Poppi employees better prepare for the roller coaster. First, their current positions will be devalued as they integrate at lower levels than expected. After that, it’s a matter of time before many will not be viewed as PEP material.

Once the Poppi team gets a taste of Pepsi culture they won’t want to stay. They’ve got a great resume so go to another start up brand

Bunch of people are about to be laid off. I’m sure poppi team is on the chopping block. Maybe reorg to keep some of them but not all. Lot of changes coming. Not enough resources to service the million skus now, let alone another 30+ with poppi and don’t forget AlaniNu…

Pepsi agreed to keep the Rockstar people under that deal, but proceeded to dump them all anyway. Poppi is not that big. The entire category is smaller than coconut water and definitely smaller than rtd juice. Our arrogant leaders were actually talking about how much help the Poppi people needed. Ummm the grew a brand into a success while your leadership has driven every brand into decline.

Time will tell . But poppy seems like another yuppi drink with minimal probiotic , overpriced , too expensive for mass market . If you want to be healthy go eat a carrot or something natural that is plentiful and inexpensive.

@ks True. PepsiCo just wants the patents, and then they ki-l off the competing minor brand.

Surely not a good track record. Remember Sobe one of the hottest brands to ever come out. Pepsi ki-led it. Bang one the the hottest brand ever and Pepsi ki-led it. Poppi one of the hottest brands ever and……writing is one the wall. If walks like a duck and talks like a duck ….it’s a duck

@fs Sure. It was considered one of the top energy drink brands out there. Rivaling Monster. Since PepsiCo bought them....you never hear about the brand again. Similar to Amp Fuel, and AMP Energy. Why do you think Celsius won't sell out.

They probably has something worked out similar when they bought Rockstar. They will keep very little poppi people in my opinion.
