that's what this company is taught us: never work hard for them, never go the extra mile, absolutely do not try hard. only do the bare minimum because they're going to lay you off no matter what

You have no choice, but have to work over time, over load, working evenings and working holidays at O because Exempt employees can be required to work overtime legally without extra pay.
Unlike police officers who get paid by the hour, they can chase part-time gigs tax free after work to stack some extra cash on top of those Big Fat Beautiful Monthly Paychecks and Big Fat Beautiful Pensions 👮♂🤣🤣🤣🤣
As a former employee, I can confirm - never consider doing more than minimum is needed. Do not let yourself go into over time, over load, working evenings, working holidays. Just never. Even 1 hour overtime of it is not paid.
I haven't been, for quite some time now and no plans to reverse course any time soon.
