Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Why is Bridget treating exempt = non exempt

They need to show their hourly tracking records if they're going to demand 8 hours in the office, otherwise how are people to know where they stand. Like how are people going to take 3 hours of calls in the morning in the office with India, some of those are like 6am when people are typically dead asleep. I guess we need to demand the meetings start at 9am for our time zone. I hope they enjoy staying around crazy late for that. Does the board approve of this? Do they know there's a real risk of seriously stressed out people making big fat finger errors making these demands. Also keep in mind most locations have people with no co workers at that location. This is in large part because WF is so undesirable as a employer that they have to look around the whole country to put a team together for X cost. Our leadership seems so out of touch with the line and staff employees,

@fw So as a bad mgr , you measure productivity by number of hours versus the work product . You do realize it’s managers like you who THE problem. Stick up for your folks. Set an example or just resign yourself to being the problem and a bad leader.

As a manager, I asked to see the productivity reporting for my people so I could help them manage their hours. HR declined my request. They said I would be told when one of my employees had a problem. You have to know they don't feel confident in the reporting if they aren't transparent with it.

Wells Fargo should be careful of the behavior they incentivize. If they aren't willing to allow flexibility during work hours, employees are going to stop giving flexibility during family hours. I agree with declining meetings setup during your family hours.

@cd Doesn't stop most people from scheduling things at fu-k all times. I typically decline but at some point, you become the squeaky wheel and that's not a good thing in the end. I get the time back somewhere else but it's a pain trying to track it. Ridiculous they have this unspoken expectation, have all these reports, but I'm pretty sure no one has vetted any of it. I've seen enough of people's testing in this company to know it's typically sh-t work.

Start declining the meeting invites and block out non work hours.

I guess you better be in the office by 6 am. Good news is that you can leave at 2 pm.

Yeah, miss 10 minutes are you are ON THE LIST.
Its that bad. Better get ready to put your employee check-in in Workday explaining the heavy traffic in the am. Or that you had to get home early to pick up the kids cuz the spouse was working late. Yep. Check it or lose it, salaried emps are now the same as hourly emps!!!

They actually don’t really need to show us anything. What says they need to? Same with any app tracking. Admins can track emails sent/rec, meetings, usage in team etc. some of this you can see like logins and apps used. You can also see your own search history but not copilot history. If you can see this, know they can see it too and much more. Oh you only got 5 emails today and sent 3? Well I guess you’re not busy enough and we don’t need you anymore.

It’s actually a bit worse than being non-exempt. They typically have set hours and likely can tell when they clocked in and clocked out. How the he11 are we supposed to know or remember when we arrived at the office. I’m supposed write it down or some sh1t? And what happens if I leave at 7:50 hours on the office. Are they going to ding me for 10 minutes?

I realize they’re really going to get the low hanging fruit of people not even at 5 hours.

With all the posts on this it’s going to be a mess because there will be a ton of exceptions.
