Senior Leadership's poor communication strikes again!

I was told that a half day of PTO counts towards 4 hours in the office, but that I would still have to work 4 more hours in the office to get credit for 8 hours in the office. (I was told it had to be at the office, not just working somewhere.)

My guess, based on the answers in this thread, is that senior leadership has again been vague and not spelled it out exactly and managers are interpreting this vagueness differently. With all the talk of transparency in this organization, why do we always end up in situations like this? How hard would it have been to define this in an FAQ and supply that to everyone? (and by everyone, I mean everyone, not just managers.) Why do employees (their term, not mine) have to search on the internet to get answers to questions that they should be providing? Especially questions that have HR repercussions?

@ew I asked that specific question to my manager and I was told it does not count as a full day in office. I guess it depends on the team then.

@cs Yes it will and it is very clear in HR guidance.. Not just technology but HR for WF. 4 hours PTO is credited as a full day in office. No debate

@a2 by the way the OP wrote a statement and just ended with a question mark leads me to believe they can't read well either.
