DXC Annual Holiday Shutdown Policy

Are these people having a laugh or what. They wait to tell you, on 1st October, about a new policy that supposedly applies this year to use up your vacation days at Christmas... ...and... even if client commitments mean that you can't do that, you'll be expected to do the equivalent of that within 60 days. All of this is supposedly for your well-being. I'm depressed already.

This'll be on top of the 0% pay rise. Luckily, short term illnesses have been shown to last as long as the number of days they need from you...

This is a common practice for any company who is desperately trying to improve their balance sheet. Particularly if they're attempting to sell the company itself. CSC did this c**p for years when they were trying to sell to anyone who was stupid enough to show any interest in buying them. It's a familiar pattern.

@aq it's at the end of the holiday year... So no balance left anyway.

This is just another stupid idea from the gang of muppets.

If you planned this then tell people it's for 2026...unless you plan to force people to take unpaid leave if they can't cover it with their holidays..

They are forcing you to take your vacation to avoid paying you out when they fire you. They also don't want to have to pay contractors during that time.

It's just one thing after another at the moment, shows total disregard for staff.

Even if they retract it entirely or it turns out it's only for USA or whatever it just shows how little effort they put in when staff are involved.

The CES Town hall was laughable, no impact on staff but it's great look how excited us leaders are.

When you’ve had to buy your holiday through flex, most people make sure they use it wisely. In the past, taking 3 days was generally the standard. A lot of people might add a little extra around Christmas, but now it seems you’re expected to allocate a full 7 days.

What if someone has already used all their flex days?
And if you only have one or two left, will they automatically carry over? It feels unfair to have to “waste” a final day before Christmas, only to then have to dip into 2026 leave for January 2nd.

It would be much fairer if any flex days you’ve purchased could automatically carry forward. After all, the business already has the benefit of the money upfront — whether you use the days this year or next.

This management have no clue how to soften something with a bit of give and take.

If we get vacation days as part of the benefits package how do they think it's their right to tell us how to use them?
