Shale and Tight Post Layoff Mess

Let’s discuss the shale and tight post reorg mess. Over two months in following wave 1 and people still don’t know what is going on with workflows with minimal guidance from leadership because they don’t know. Folks at the working level are doing their best to figure it out. morale is at an all time low. When will the management stars and their followers who designed the new org be held accountable for the mess.

This reorg is showing how feckless the leadership class is. Everything broke, and the managers I’m seeing are in no way competent to fix it. In the past this worked, because the worker bees kept buzzing along. Now, however, things are so broken the little bees can’t figure out what to do, and when they look upward for direction, all they get are blank stares and hollow corporate speak. Over 2 months in and I can’t get answers to the most fundamental operating questions. And now it’s about to be compounded by wave 2 dysfunction. It’d be hilarious if I didn’t have to deal with it.

Oh, but let’s put our focus on making sure people are badging in. Sorry LT, but no amount of proximity is going unfu-k this mess up.

@br "I think it's ridiculous that people continuously make statements as if chevron is going to be acquired. There are very few companies in the world even capable of doing such a thing and there are laws to prevent a monopoly."

Might want to read up on the Great Reset and the global initiative for the consolidation of global resources including energy. Laughable and naive.

@br I remember when we thought Gulf couldn’t be acquired…

lol. ‘Laws to prevent a monopoly…’ like the current FTC gives a flying fak about competition.

The next 18-24 mos will see continued consolidation and erosion of consumer protection. Wouldn’t surprise me if that included more oil and gas deals.

Take a chill pill. Less drama, more results.

@op This is true throughout the company. Mass confusion is the result. 1H was waiting for clarity as the LT hasn’t figured it out. LT makes demands that don’t make sense so don’t be in a hurry to hear what they want to say.

You are too pessimistic. We have Chevron India.

That being said, OP, I agree that morale is still low from round 1. I have noticed that there are people who are still bitter about the jobs they got or having to move. In my area, I've only heard of 1 person who's quit but there are many more that are basically checked out.

Never

All by design to diminish the brand for capital acquisition. Can’t believe the question you ask is still being asked.
