Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

CES Town Hall 10/01?

We received an email today from our group leader to say that he ‘strongly’ advises us to attend the CES town hall next week. First time we’ve ever had an email like this so we immediately started getting our conspiracy thinking hats on to try and come up with an idea of what’s happening.
Maybe it’ll be more of the same or maybe a big announcement, who knows.
Anyone got any clues as to what it is?

Don’t go, listen on the replay and fast foward till something interesting comes up. So much BS on those calls.

I am so glad I decided to leave DXC on January 28, 2023. My director was ok , not great but ok but 2 pay increases in 14 years it was time to get away

I realise I've stayed on too long. Hoping it would get better. But it never does. My pay has gone down not up. They cut overtime, expenses, bonuses, add rules that mean you have to buy more holiday and tax went up!

I joined the don't care brigade some time. Ago now. I took time off sick, stopped attending calls. Ignore as much as I can. Nothing changed. My manager says I'm doing a good job. Well in comparison to the rest and given my salary I'm a model employee.

And this is what's wrong with DXC!!!

It's always a red flag if they announce a big reorganisation at levels above you, but say "don't worry, your day to day work with the customers will not change. You will not see any impact. Carry on as you are".
All this means is that you are the one bit of the organisation that is functioning well and bringing in the bacon. It's all the managerial stuff that is dysfunctional and in need of wholesale changes. Yet they are the ones who get the bonuses, rises and rewards? It makes no sense.
And then they expect us to get "excited" about the changes

I’m an optimistic person and I attend these calls in a spirit of optimism to see if I might be pleasantly surprised but unfortunately, every call my belief is misplaced.
For example, to go from a $75m turnover with Microsoft to a $500m turnover in three years is, well, very optimistic.
I totally accept that Ramnath has to show his new broom and I’ve no doubt he firmly believes his plans will work l, but then to effectively say “you guys will have to work harder, more constructively, with more ‘innovation’ (he used that word a lot) for no extra incentive or reward” is really taking the p**ss.
I’ve been with CSC/DXC for eleven years and without exception every town hall has said the same: ‘more work please, no extra pay unfortunately’.
Nothing will change until they realise that people need to be rewarded for this supposed extra effort we’re being asked to put in.
As others have commented, this was really just deck chairs being moved to different positions’.

Is it just me or is "leadership" that has been here for many years suddenly discovering all the pipeline and how they will make a billion here and a billion there in 3 years! Its also quite pathetic to see "leadership" keeps comparing themselves to Accenture. Who is going to tell them that they are not even in the same league. Need to brush up the resume asap.

@18g But you missed Ramnath tell staff how much they contribute and then next breath say there may not be any salary review this year. Given how insanely happy the various leaders that got trotted out were, the view from the new deck chair positions must be much improved, however no change for staff

@18b it really was total bollocks, they couldn't communicate their way out of a paper bag.
I guess this is what happens if you use AI to come up with your strategy, gibberish.

Funny how staff made a huge contribution but any reward still uncertain .

This was worse than I could have imagined... Same clowns who could not generate a profit for years are now leading regions. What can they do now that they chose not to do before! Absolute clown show

Will anyone ask any tricky questions or will it just be the usual sycophantic drivel, and if any tricky questions are asked will they be answered?

Don't give the satisfaction of thinking they still have our attention. The fewer people who attend these things, the louder the message - your staff don't care - read this site - it's all about a lack of direction, pay disparity, and the fact you let the good people go, but won't sack the dross.

It is your perfect chance to slip away. Plug in your headphones, set them down on your desk, log in to the town hall and step away for a break.

@kc I'm past the point of "needing" a pay off to go, but getting one would still be a welcome bonus. But this is DXC. They think just being part of DXC is reward enough most of the time. So ultimately I'll go when it suits me, and probably won't suit any of their deadlines.

Don't attend. It sends a clearer message that their staff have given up listening. It will be more of the same BS. You don't need to hear it live in either of the broadcast sessions.

If he were really going, he’d be gone already. He doesn’t care enough about this company to make that announcement himself. More likely, it’ll just be another round of “aren’t we doing great” with a recycled strategy of “do the same thing and hope for different results.” The message will be the same: we all need to work harder and smarter for less, while he takes the bonus—there will be promises of pay reviews. But we all know they won't happen.
