Thread regarding Comcast layoffs

Comcast Severance

I'm eng4 level management, what does the severance package look like? I'll be exiting in 8 months at any rate, but I cannot find any detail on Comcast severance. Yes, I will be leaving voluntarily, but I would prefer a layoff.

I'm a manager 1 with 1.5 years of tenure in West Div, and I got 14 weeks. Starts on 1/1/26.

The formula is somewhat complex and depends on your salary, level, and whether you are salaried or hourly. While I don’t have the exact details, it works roughly like this:

Engineers below Level 5: 4 weeks of severance, plus 1 additional week for each year of service.

Managers / Level 5 Engineers and above: 16 weeks of severance, plus 1 additional week per year of service after the first 3 years (in other words, the first 3 years give you 16 weeks total, and then you accrue 1 extra week per year).

Executive Severance (Directors+): Severance is tied to salary scale, starting between 18–35 weeks depending on salary, plus 1 additional week per year of service after the first 3 years.

Not sure of if they change their severance packages each time, but the last time I faced a layoff there was back in 2015, and at the time it was 1 week pay for every year of service (I was/am an exempt employee). I have been unable to find any information regarding severance payouts anywhere. Our handbook only touches on XPE services, unused vacation hours earned and health benefits impact as a result of a layoff.

OP Here. At Oracle, we got 30 days + 1 week for every year of service, plus accrued vacation. I'm retiring, but I think I'd like a package better, if I can get one. If not, no big deal. It's just difficult to fine Comcast severance info.

From what I have been told it's for every year it's like 1.5 weeks

Typically, employees who leave voluntarily are not eligible for a severance package.
