Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

I've worked on PQC and QKD intiatives....and it doesn't matter!

Wow! what can I say? No matter what one works on, the only thing that matters is how the second layer L8 thinks of one! Yep, one could be a rocket scientist, but unless one is connected, guess what......NOPE. You are just not the "right fit".
Last time I checked, the ones who could master the technology were kings. It would seem that L8 wants to limit competition to those they can control.
In this case, I feel L8 needs to su-k it up, and go with the flow. But what do I know????

Oh and by the way? I learned all this over the past few years. I have 30+ years in the security industry. My eyes were opened and I must say, if you know, you should be concerned.

PQC - is Post Quantum Computing. It refers to the science of encryption at the next level.
QKD - Quantum Key Distrtribution - it refers to the secure distribution of encryption keys. That's important as it relates to what decrypts data on the receiving end.
For those with questions, normally its handled by other technology. But securely sharing keys is one of the most important functions in the security world. For if that distribution is cracked, it means that others have the key to the vault. So, in this case, QKD is VERY important to the banking industry.

What I'll say is this - the majority of the blissfully ignorant customers think that their browser is safe. Yet, its not true anymore. All of that encryption, dual validation, etc., is going by the wayside. Which is why major banks are now working furiously to encrypt data for the next generation of computers.
Step back a few years......DES was 56bit and it was thought safe. Yet a couple years later, 3DES was 128 bit and thought safe. Uh HUH. But then came AES, 128, 256. Yep, more complex encryption algorithms.
But, all that goes into the toilet with PQC. Yep. Those keys can be decrypted in matters of hours and data revealed.
That's why the banks are scared.
Call me what you will, I'm working it and I can tell you......its real.

Post Quantum Computing. (PQC) and QKD (Quantum Key distribution).
All those matter to folks who want secure banking. You see, with the advent of quantum computing, all the algorithms that kept your data safe via encryption are invalidated. Meaning, the new wave of computing can decrypt them in matters of minutes. But, they want to record the data first, so they can decrypt later. Its a big deal.
Most banks - they are scared shitless. Yes its true.
