Chevron saves those that don’t apply to jobs

While I’m sadden to not have gotten a role in my selection, I have learned that in round 2 a job has been saved outside of being applied. It hurts to learn the favoritism of upper management to save those that didn’t actually apply to their roles…take that HR!

I know there were people that were given a role prior to the selection process . They were sent to train in Houston (we’re not in TX) for the newly created job. Of course now it’s known they landed . Feels wrong they let people waste a chip on it if they already had that person selected. I know 2 people that applied to that job that are now left standing. Maybe if they would have known they would have used that chip on something else and had a higher shot at still being employed.

@a4 You know, bud, the tone of your post suggests that you’re a real a--hole. The person who wrote about not being selected is a human being who is now out of a job and likely facing some hardship as a result. It wouldn’t ki-l you to show a little empathy, and if you can’t fake it, then at least have the common sense to shut your yapper.

To the person who did not get selected, I am sorry. Many good folks in Wave 1 & Wave 2 were laid off. Try, if you can, to not take it personally, understanding what a flawed and preferential process this has been. Take care of your health and move on as best you can. I wish you well.

In the ABU, some of the second rate managers were looked after with fat payouts.

@a4 it’s the action of leaving others behind and slotting in those that we like. It’s unfair, it’s legally unjust and a black hole our company operators to keep poor performers we call friends. When was their last ERT, Discovery, bell ring, ?

Job postings or applications are not governed by any laws, so there is nothing illegal about who they give jobs to, regardless of what you did and did not apply for. As a matter of fact, I got placed in a job I did not apply for - was written in. I know someone who applied for that job and is mad I got it it - is it you? Sorry, was not my doing haha
