@bd I have the same experience. OCI forced all their policies on us and I felt like nobody was there to support the traditional development teams and products in Oracle. Now they swallowed the whole org under them. And it makes no sense at all?

@ab Maybe there's something I don't see but no way?

Oracle has done a solid lower key (than Broadcom) job of holding on to entrenched legacy tech, keeping it alive (though some would argue...), and extracting fees for it.

Uncle Larry said it unequivocally and I'm in agreement for once "[when you have the application, the database, the infrastructure....that's when you can 'do' AI. You have to understand the full stack and user intent]" (paraphrased)

When OCI came onboard from AWS many years ago, they operated as their own little business - incredible the stuff they got away with. Over time their footprint on Oracle grew (like a cancer). Now Oracle = OCI, they run the company - their way. If you aren't part of the OCI club, you best assimilate or risk being shown the door. It's an entirely different mindset, and likely the reason SC is no longer CEO as well. All that said, it's hard to argue with their success, look at the stock price. They might indeed be the smartest guys in the room and exactly what Oracle needs to continue growing at this time.

Why does Oracle need TWO CEOs?!? First it was Hurd and Katz, now these guys. I hope they realize Larry intends to live forever.

Does that mean we have to listen to Clay and his ego now on calls? Anyone trust him to run a company at this level?

Clay built the culture of nit being a je-k which transformed the Oracle culture and is now being recognized for his charisma, inspiration and vision. He may be recognized as the Steve Jobs of the next generation Cloud revolution.

Safra has expended her usefulness. Fusion didn't take over and AI became bigger revenue driver. She is on exec form of garden leave.
