Thread regarding Alphabet Inc. (Google) layoffs

H1B Changes

Fees changing to 100k. Google lowballs candidates hard so I doubt they will pay this unless the candidate is spectacular.

actually the company needs to make some money before hiring anybody. The ceo has made the company super super poor and crazy many programs which failed. If the ceo is a failure....everyone like him will be a failure.

H1b era is coming to an end.

Google would "pass" US citizens in technical interviews, then never match them to teams later unless they were from Asia.

They use the L-1 program(!!!!)

No quotas, no pay requirements.

The H-1B has always been a distraction.

Watch how nothing changes.

$100K is for all new H1-B visa starting next year. F1 is not H1-B visa.

When H1-B system is abused, new rules will be introduced.

Google is pushing many towards contract positions to cut cost by partnering with Infosys, wipro, and many Indian IT sourcing companies. This is to cut cost, no RSUs, no medical so that only a selected few at the top and middle level can enjoy the profits.

Plenty of F1 visa students already in USA they can hire. If you're in USA, you don't have to pay the $100K fee for H1B applicants.
