@ep Consultants and Support engineers are the jobs in great danger because of Cloud deployments and AI...so these are not jobs for the future anyways...a lot of people (including myself) don't know where to up skill ourseli to stay in the competition...may be give up on Software industry as a whole ?
@eh but the North America pampered Sales force will still be whining for NA (especially US) consultants, regardless of where in the world the project is run from. Do you really think they give a $h1+ about consultants working 24/7 and only billing 40 hours per week) or whatever lowballed hours are in the contract/SOW?
@OP people think that once they get rid of H1B engineers their jobs will go to US local engineers...what will happen instead is that these jobs will go to low cost centers in Bengaluru, Vietnam...

Even so it still makes a lot of sense to hire Indians. They always do the needful and are several times more productive than Americans.
