Apple is going in for far, far, far more than $5B.
Looks like Apple is up next:

Intel seeks direct Apple investment as US chip manufacturing gets increasing priority
@OP The correct answer is 'yes'
More in the works watch. Also remember pastor Pat and his ego would have passed off all the donors.
@h3 include a news link. I just did a search and found nothing.
The the Samsung fab in Taylor TX was just raided by ICE and all of the Koreans are now in detention.
@aq The deal with the Samsung fab in Taylor TX also includes using Intel for packaging.
The NVDA deal is also stated to use foveros, so while they may all wait a bit longer to get serious with the fabs, packaging is gaining contracts.
Nowadays, the package costs more than the chip/s.
If only there was a way to encourage or maybe even force one of these other companies to pony up.
The next options can only be for foundry work..so those would be big announcements

@a3 You Lie!
NVDA is going to use foveros. Jenson estimates this effort will generate $25B to $50B a year in revenue, and a portion of that is Intel product. Some is TSMC.
This isn't particularly about IFS but they get a piece. It is much more about helping keep x86 relevant in the DC.
Great question. Someone is thinking in the forum.
@OP you forgot to add Thelayoff.com as a choice. They must have some coin built up after all these IBM activity.
The initial announcement of a partnership between Intel and Nvidia didn’t mention Intel’s Foundry Services, which offers the most advanced chip design and manufacturing opportunities to Intel customers. Nvidia largely relies on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company for those services. (TSMC also manufactures some of Intel’s chips.)
During the press briefing, Tan and Huang were asked about whether Nvidia would be taking advantage of Intel’s Foundry. Both executives demurred. Tan said that today’s announcement was more of a “product collaboration announcement,” and noted that Intel will continue to make progress on its Foundry chips, and that the two entities will determine if Intel will provide these services to Nvidia at a later date. Huang, for his part, underscored Nvidia’s working relationship with TSMC.
Nvidia-Intel will fall together. Intel could not even manufacture its own chips, relying 75% on TSMC. Intel is 10 years behind TSMC.
Nvidia is using the 5B to please Trump, and in return, get a ticket to reduce tariff.
