For those that worked in Technology Operations and were laid off, can you share where you landed if you were able to find something, or the industry you moved to? Feeling like my days are numbered, so keeping my eyes peeled for opportunities.

@d9 i did all those things and I went so far to remove myself from google search results. Didn’t make a bit of difference.
I landed fast at a great place and may get a big promotion very soon.
I also understand just how lucky I got and it was only due to my network. The market is very competitive right now- it's who you know to at least to get in the door- especially for leadership positions.
Took a job at a retail place making 16$ an hour for the health insurance. I am thriving at that job. Made 70k$ at Cigna. Spend any time I'm not working my new job doing side hustle. I don't pull 70k$. I work three times as hard. But I'm getting by. I still apply to jobs in my field. Doubt I'll end up back in it. AI and India are doing those jobs. Is what it is. Saved my pennies. Just working hard until I can't. The American dream.
Same experience as the first commenters. I've had some interviews but haven't landed anything. It's very competitive and the entire job finding process is broken. I had already set my expectations lower but will probably lower them yet again because at some point I just need a paycheck coming in.
My advice is to start looking at the jobs you'd be applying for and note if there's any skills or certifications that you don't have and start working on those immediately. Not just the training but make up your own project work to use them so you can claim the experience and speak to it when you apply for new jobs.
I haven’t landed yet, and will probably have to retire early or find a side hustle. Over 55 and no interviews yet despite applying. Removed most items from LinkedIn and resume that easily give away my age as recommended by the transition service. However, a quick Google search will reveal anyone’s age.
I applied. Networked. Got rejected. Thought about starting something on my own. If not for the insane roadblocks, might have developed an MVP. During the months when I was on unemployment, and while I was still receiving severance, and out desperation, I got assigned through a staffing agency, to a warehouse that ship boat related products (gps, fishing hooks, radars, etc). Sat in a room for orientation, all the while thinking to myself that I am truly eff'd of all I can find is a $15 per hour job after working for a 6 figure job for some time.
Nevertheless, I told the staffing agency to stuff it and went home to never come back. Why? Because if I had worked that job I would never have left. I hang on a bit, while still applying all over, and getting rejected all over. Then, you guessed it, I find a remote job in a contact center. Hated it the moment I sat through orientation. But I needed some Benjamin's to cover my necessities(housing, food, insurance, etc). So i begrudgingly worked at the contact center. Through this role I network internally. I connect with a leader who was recruiting for two strategic agile roles. I interview. I haven't been offered the role yet, and I won't hold my breadth but that's my journey so far. Not landed yet somewhere nice, but I am also kinda stranded. So we will see.
