Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh leadership team has fostered a foul work environment where it is okay to be unprofessional and racist. Look around, minorities do not thrive in this office.

Some of those in Pittsburgh, specifically, in WTS and trading floor support, are some of the biggest, most petty micromanagers and they yet don’t want to do any actual work. They’ll sit around and act like they’re the boss of folks who don’t even report to them all the while their own team is filled with so much apathy it’s not even funny. These guys don’t make their subordinates want to go out of their way for them, they don’t foster a sense of trust, and there’s no joy in doing their job anymore.

Desperate attempt to make it a race issue. I have several on my team from Pittsburgh and i have never had the worst people than i do now and they are out of that location. Not all are black but a couple are and not only do they show they dont want to work no matter what you say but they cannot catch on, wont try and think they can do what they want. Definition not a bny issue.

OP,
You are nothing but a da.mn coward.
How about you look around. Do you really see anyone thriving and doing well here? Nope.
Stop trying to go through life with an ugly ‘R’ chip on your shoulder. This is just a plain bad place for anyone.

I only worked in Jersey City and Lake Mary. Judging by ALL the Woke DEI rhetoric in this place and Corporate America by and large, I can't imagine this is permitted. I'm White/Hispanic, so I know the liberal victims will label me a part of the problem. And will say I don't have the right to even opine. To riff off of someone else's is response to this thread, between the AI, outsourcing and overall toxic culture, you can be Robert Redford and they'll can you if it benefits the balance sheet.

Labeling all managers with a generic “racist” term is useless and makes you a hypocrite.

Are there some bad managers? Sure. Same as there are some lazy employees.

You need to provide specific examples and show that you have escalated to the appropriate channels such as Ethics or People Team. Managers do the same when they have to coach underperforming employees.

Too many employees who actually are lower performers will use any excuse to not be responsible for their own inadequacies.

Instead of generically pronouncing you are a victim of “racism”, bring receipts and then you’ll be taken seriously.

This is true and everyone knows it. Pittsburgh is known to be prejudiced against anyone who isn’t WHITE. Pittsburgh managers do not support minorities who don’t look or speak like them.
