Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Anyone else get that Workday work satisfaction survey?

Wondering if that's a soft ask/getting feedback for those they think might be open for voluntary layoffs........

Real question - Can anybody name one actual meaningful change being done based on the survey results?

OK, let me ask this - Can anybody name one actual meaningful change that was done based on the last two survey results?

If the answer is NO, then why are we even filling these out?

These surveys are not anonymous. They can find out who said what. I don't see a point in doing these anymore because you are not heard anyways. The company caters to brown nosers only, and threatened by anyone who has a brain and skill sets.

Liz slipped and said when she was in coworker services - she stll calls it that- that she would know who people were because her document would say the number of people that scored it a certain way by race, age, position, nationality. s-x. etc. So do like we all did when she was in CWS and tell them only what you want to hear because your managers will know.

@z4 Of course not answering to survey to them is an answer and if CDW knows who is providing answers, it's pretty easy to determine the names of a minority who didn't.

For me, I'd answer truthfully and in the comments section, I'd sign my name with an open offer to discuss my responses.

IMO, some of the questions are worrisome. There is one along the lines of "If you were offered an equivalent position outside of CDW, would you leave CDW?" I just fear anyone saying "I'd leave" will be at the top of the layoff list. I know I'm probably being paranoid, but,.....

In an ideal world, you're absolutely right. But these clowns are laying people off on a regular basis so why risk being honest and potentially be targeted? I don't trust them. The fish stinks from the head down - there's my feedback and they can view it here.

I thought it was funny the survey was called “Peakon” as in peeking on you.
I did do the survey and was respectfully honest… how else will we improve and fix problems if we’re living in fear of simply filling out a survey?

I am more concerned many missed the survey due to how it was sent. I had to tell a peer about it who totally missed the email.
The surveys are anonymous... but also a leader can many times tell who wrote what based on what you write. I do think it is important people state their gripes so leadership can see it. Otherwise, they will keep their heads in the sand and pretend everything is fine. And just a vocal minority thinks there is a problem.

@nz I think almost all of us are looking now, not being cause we'll be targeted short term, but because thj gs here have gone from bad to worse across the company over the last 2 years.

@d0 Dead right. Nobody should touch those surveys. They say anonymous, but it’s a joke; they can line it up with the non-anonymous ones and figure out exactly who said what. This company can’t be trusted, not for a second. Shady as he-l, and most of the managers are full of sh!t.

I don’t fill surveys like that out, because they are traceable. So either I fill it out with what they want to hear, or I just don’t fill it out and I’m sure many feel the same way.

At best, any kind of employee survey falls under the 'employee engagement' banner. The school of manglement thinking that if the lowly serfs think we (The company) listen care, it will placate them as we shaft them. The results are collected and some broad based, corporate buzzword bingo statement about them is made. And thus it ends.

At worst, they are a tool to find the malcontents, the non Flavor-Aid drinkers of the corporate line so they can be removed at the first chance.
