Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Not looking forward to the weekend

This place has su-ked all the joy out of my life. All I do is worry. I’m lucky, I’m in my late 20s and don’t have a family. I feel for my teammates who have to go home and put on a happy face for their spouses and children. I don’t think I could manage that with everything that’s been going on.

You are young, plan your exit on your conditions if this time you are not hot by layoffs. Do not stay too long. It’s not a good place for empathic intelligent people, once somebody assumed - theyfocus to keep in dark and feed with sh-t.

@OP Invest in yourself, build up an emergency fund so that a layoff isn't an immediate catastrophe.

Dont live paycheck to paycheck.

You can choose to quit with little notice and your employer can ask you to leave at short notice.

Try to avoid lifestyle inflation and live below your means. A big car and house are nice but payment defaults ompacts aren't so nice.

All I can say is don't lose your empathy, that's what makes us human, and if you're not impacted this round don't stay too long in Oracle so don't see yourself in this situation you describe, which many others including me are now living through.

You're young and shouldn't be worrying that much, take back control and start looking for better places.
