It’s exhausting watching people coast while the rest of us scramble to get things done. Every project ends up feeling like a fight, not just against the actual work, but against all the nonsense that comes with covering for others. And then to see them survive a layoff round after a layoffs round? No. Just, no.

@h2 I can confirm. My largest raise came the year after I qq in 2022 and the next year's raise was almost as big.
Funny is how OP is framing the coasters as the problem when in reality the bootlicking on their part is the issue here.

I've been QQ for 5 years now and my career has never been growing faster. The less you gaf, the more you grow. It's weird.
Yep...bare minimum from me for a while now.
I refuse to let this company, specifically JC run this place with the anti employee attitude (that gets pushed downward to managers) he has and allow that to ruin my peace of mind. I know my worth and do what i need to do while so many on my team do little or nothing at all and just coast.
Sometimes you need to let it burn. Stop being a hero. Do what is obviously above and beyond what those lazy as--s do and not much more.
@ CB management knows, we told them so many times, they won't do anything for L2 and L3 people.
We have a similar problem is support. Our primary performance metrics is case accepts so a few people grab all the easy stuff so they can have 3-5 accepts a day snd spend hours watching Netflix. Then those of us working on the complex cases get 1-2 accepts per day. Then layoff time rolls around and those of us doing the hard work get axed because on paper we're the underperfomers

Every time I'm at risk of working too hard, I stop and ask myself - how much does "leadership" care about us? Then I match that energy with my work efforts.
Been working well so far.

You shouldn’t be. Show up, do what you need to do and go home. The day for being a hero is gone. Dell doesn’t care.
Don’t take that approach for one reason: the day you can’t keep it up, they’ll question you and you might end up on their bad side. What they really want are people who follow orders. Word travels fast in the company, and once management puts someone on a PIP, they often lose their strongest talent while the underperformers stay behind. Recruitment at Dell is already a major issue, and leadership tends to dwell on negatives instead of recognizing when things are going well. That's the way it works.

if you are busting your back for Dell, you are part of the problem.
You have answered your own question. Don't bother. All you are doing is hiding the problem. The work still gets done because you bust your back. Come in, do your hours go home. Nothing more. People only take notice when things start to break (unless its the employees). This company does not properly reward staff for going above and beyond so don't.
