Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Hurry up and quit to those working in non hub cities

We need to finish this headcount reduction that Stankey wants quicker rather than dragging it out. It’s like peeling a bandage quickly vs peeling it slowly and feeling the pain of arm hairs getting pulled.

Once the headcount is where it needs to be, then there will be less of a focus on a 5 day RTO and we will get the flexible schedule back. It is just the people that are working hard out of non-hub cities - anything outside of Dallas, Atlanta, NJ to be honest - that are holding us back at this point. Either relocate to Dallas, Atlanta, NJ or leave as Stankey is mentioning. Yet yall stay and we all get punished by Stankey for it.

Nah much easier to come in and do my 40 hrs with just enough effort to not get fired.

Nah, I'm good. Like that I'm ruining this for everyone. But feel free to come find me or set up a Teams meeting and we can talk about it.

I would love to get the VTP but its not happening as they are closing Huntsville and moving that work to Bloomington with AVP Becky here all week to ensure a smooth transition, LOL

Divide and Conquer. Survival of the Fittest. Dog eat Dog. Every man woman and child for themselves —this Hostile workplace just turned us all to Self-Preservation until we can reach the Exits now. ( not “culture” or Collaboration as Bald Stanley claims. )

“I assure you as soon as I get something else, I will be happy to go.“

T can’t wait that long.“

Then they can surplus me and give me the severance because until I find something else or they lay me off, I’m going to be here.

Side effect of taking away pre Medicare retiree medical. Now us Boomers/Gen X have to stay until age 65 to be Medicare eligible. Once we make to 65, we’ll realize we can easily stay until full retirement age of 67. Stank miscalculated that move.

More talk overheard in the Dallas C-Suite about some old overpaid union job title in Bloomington MN for only about 15 high seniority employees who aren't actually performing what their job title indicates - thus need to cut those costs.

I would rather give them a list of slackers in hub cities that I see being unproductive and useless than have them cut more of my hard working counterparts just because they live in a non- preferred political zone.

You first.

I assure you as soon as I get something else, I will be happy to go. The job market is really bad right now. One of the worst in decades for white collar jobs. When it eventually pivots, there will be a rush to the doors.

Didn’t he announce market based culture? That means I in non hub against you in hub. Perform better than me and I lose else you lose. There’s no meaning of collaboration and hubs or teams no more. It’s individual competitive heads only that will survive the fittest.

The exception should be of course for customer-facing roles in retail stores. Everyone else, get your butt in Dallas or Atlanta.

Sorry, I am a customer facing market-based employee. My job can't be done from Dallas or Atlanta.
