With Honeyman gone, some 3Mer's might be interested in the honeyman position. 3M leadership will go outside of 3M because 3Mers are viewed as incompetent, good worker bees but not leadership material. The longer you are at 3M, the less likely you will be promotable. A longtime 3Mer is a future job elimination. 3M wants non-3M experienced leaders. The non-3M experienced leaders have been so impressive. Let the search begin.

heck we could get the coffee guys son for about 1/20 the cost and son would get advice for free
Could the coffee and tire gentleman be called back to consult thru Kearny? He has at least some experience?
What!? You mean the dude from Honeywell took a hike? Jeez I am gone for a year and things continue to churn.
I miss McNerney. I miss my hemorrhoids and ex wife too.
@em mcnerney was a big fan of consultants. They simply told him what he wanted to do anyway coming from GE. Fire people. Promise better quarterly earnings then fire some more and use the write offs to goose the so-called earnings. He did this about 5 times in 4 years.
@ee I have a friend that worked for McKinsey years ago, right out of college for a short stint. When i told him one time that we had hired them to look into something for our division, long after he was gone from there, he said "Oh? Did they tell you to fire people. Because they always say that." Some things never change.
There was a time when a consultant had a good amount of experience in the given field they consulted for. Nowadays they have a masters degree in consulting with no actual hands on experience at all, other than to try talking smart. They go in, give worthless advice, collect their money, and ride off into the sunset with zero accountability for their poor decisions.
ESC is already in good hands with the interim guy who satisfies all the important 3M criteria. He’s external. He was previously a consultant (at a big 3 no less!). And since he apparently hasn’t worked at a manufacturing company according to his online bio his brain isn’t saddled with useless supply chain related knowledge.
Didn’t take long for him to see the mess that the previous guy made. Lots of irreversible damage in the name of whatever a consultant told the previous guy to do. Perhaps the consultant needs to be called in to account for their miserable results.
It just shows what a mess within 3M ESC.
Even external executives hires cannot handle it.
Strike the words "Leader" and "Leadership" from your vocabulary when talking about 3M management. They are not leaders by any stretch of the imagination. All they do is micromanage their minions. True leaders would be supporting their people and leading the way by example.
But what about FlimFlam? He is a longtime 3Mer who seems based on posts on this site not to be the most competent person for the job yet he is the GC. Some of his minions are also longtime 3Mers who do not have great reputations as leaders yet they are still there.
Yes, apply for the position. 3M is known for fairness and doing the right thing.🤨
Look for a GSC posting if interested
