Now that India appears to be aligning with China and North Korea- how long can Ford continue to offshore massive amounts of Engineering, Manufacturing, and Tech work there?

How can Ford remain committed to India as a centre of excellence?
I mean if we're being real they could always work to improve local sanitation. Half of ET works from there and its still one of the most filth ridden places on earth. Amazing for reportedly being so engulfed in tech and to not have basic sanitation taken care of in the majority of the country.

Regarding the jobs that have been sent to India - do we know how accurate, efficient and reliable the work being done there is?
In the long run- don’t mistakes, delays, and confusion end up costing the company more than they think they are saving by offshoring?

I am feeling this quite strongly. Since I joined this group, I cannot help but feel some of the threads are directed at me. I am on H1B status, and I want to make it clear I have not done anything wrong. Still, I sense there have been some complaints or anger expressed here that might be about me. I am lost as to how to deal with this issue and why so much anger seems to be directed at me.

@a1 What is even proprietary? I can't believe what is needed for documentation here. I had to write a full end-to-end tutorials and diagrams on architectures I solo implemented translated into various consumable formats and written guidance because others couldn't read the code to understand it across different parts of the tech-stack themselves in realtime unless i'm guiding them for the 50th time and driving. I don't know what would be proprietary or sensitive from my experiences, all implementations are easy to understand and don't take mega-mind. Maybe we had different experiences or I didn't work on some super TS/SCI clearance level project. If anything, anything I came up with original and implemented got stolen... but I digress

Most Fortune 100 companies have moved IT and logistics to India 10+ years ago. Figuring out how to move other operasions where they have cut cost and had success. It's not personal, just businessmen. Not many gals. The union and RTO bś has escalated the desire to move more away from MI

Wherever labor is cheapest, that’s where the work goes. As long as boards of directors make decisions with the sole purpose of maximizing stock prices—rather than considering national security or the well-being of employees—this trend will continue.
