Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Big Prom Date on the 15th

So does anyone have any actual news about actual layoffs coming up on September 15th? Per the contract we should know if any department will get buyouts of layoffs for the next quarter (bargained for that is) right before Christmas.
Here in southwest Construction dept had info of a reorganization among the state of Texas then it was all put on ice.
I assume they are waiting for surplus announcement first.
Repair department gets one job a day and most guys have nothing else all day so I can only assume their time is up but no news around here, anyone know anything about next week announcements please share.

More talk overheard in the Dallas C-Suite about some old overpaid union job title in Bloomington MN for only about 15 high seniority employees who aren't actually performing what their job title indicates - thus need to cut those costs.

Will this be the event(9/15) that kicks off the mass layoffs in the centers? Automation has been in the works in the IOF for sometime and other technology centers. Are they ready to implement? Do they have the kinks worked out of the software? Once the do get the program running smooth the surpluses will start in big numbers.

You can wish it away all you want. Maybe you can wish for a severance package like the bargained for employees get.
You will get nothing close to that...

Oh, we will be the ones laughing when you get moved to a mobility contract that most certainly will NOT include 2 years severance pay!! Lol

Why do you find happiness in someone else's strife? I'll answer that for you. You are sad little clown.
The legacy AT&T employees will be gone with their substantial severance before they go to the mobility contract.
Save your money clown. It is comments like yours that allow us to feel no grief when your job is outsourced and you face financial ruin.

@jx ya big dummy…the company will allow you to take the 2 year surplus package if you don’t want to go to mobility contract. It’s actually best case scenario. The workers that want to leave can and if you really want to stay then you are now in mobility.

When you show up at work Monday morning, just laugh out loud knowing that everything you do at work is really meaningless in the grand skeem of the world. It's kind of like arriving at a comedy club, the curtains have opened and the show has begun. Everything is a joke. Just laugh and move on as soon as you can.

Everyone except "managers". They fight and struggle to keep from financial ruin. Yet they mistakenly place blame Union slugs for their misfortune.
You cannot save your self from Stankey's and Randell's disastrous business decisions.

You should ask to borrow a Union contract book from one of the "slugs". Read it, and it will enlighten you to the severance benefits. Pretty neat stuff in there.

Bloomington workers will be laughing their a$$es off while on long paid vacation-like termination pay as recipients of their entitlements per their long fought for labor contract. Of course jealous little minion managers elsewhere will say this is bs but they can go pi$$ off like stank bl00dy tamp0ns. haha
