EOI Question

Can anyone give information on who decides and how it’s determined if an employee is approved for EOI?

I am a younger employee and have done well during rankings in the past. I would like to put in for EOI but I am nervous that if I am not approved it could affect future opportunities if stay longer than planned. I know the “rules” say that it will not be held against you but I know that there is no guarantee.

The only time you’ll be rejected is if you’re working on something that’ll need to be finished up. Of course some of us work on things that last over a year. Hence when RL said it will continue to 2027. Then you’ll be sh-t canned.

Good luck

From a corporate standpoint they may not hold it against you, but think hard before wanting to leave if you are not well off financially or want to retire. People need to realize there are no jobs out there. I know people that have been looking for months with zero interviews. Having a job is in itself worth a lot these days. Just the health insurance alone is very important. Sure, you can get Cobra, but for an individual that can run 600-700 a month, and a family can be upwards of 1800 a month. We are in a cycle where jobs are going to pay less and benefits are going to be less. At least you have all that covered with the job you have now. I wanted to retire at 58 a while back, but my financial guy said it would be better to work until full SS age and add as much to the 401K and other retirement funds as I could. He was right as I was abe to increase my 401K and retirement by 40%. It is tough going through these times, but if you are young and can hold on to the job 10 more years you will be better off. But in the end it is all up to each of us whether to EOI.
