Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Told to relocate or find new job

Told to relocate to Charlotte without a package. Seems like they’re pulling some very shady practices. Anyone else getting pushed and prodded like this?

@cm not necessarily. There are a few people at Innslake in WIM that have some rare skills and licenses. A lot of those people will be offered to relocate. I know that WIM leadership doesn't want to do anything in Innslake, but they are handcuffed by WLS.

Don’t relocate. They don’t have to keep you once you relocate. Imagine being in a lease or mortgage? WF is not going to help you out with that. Start looking for a new job. The C suite doesn’t care about you or your family. They only care about the stockholders.

They only offer relo to a small group of employees that their analysis suggests will mostly turn it down. They just want the PR of saying that they "tried to help". In reality, when people actually do take them up on it, they shrug and get rid of the victim anyway. Just a matter of time. They don't want any of us to stay.

a company can move your job anywhere they deem suitable. At least you have a choice about whether you can keep your job if you choose to move.

So as others have said - only move if you see the new location as overall better for your career and personal situation. don't move just for the job itself, unless you are unemployable in your current geography.

Skeptical of this.... if they really want you to relocate they will offer you a relocation package. Otherwise you are not wanted. Sad but true. If you want to relocate try asking for manager for the package.

Sounds like you are some of the WIM in Richmond that was told less than a month ago they are moving by year end?? There are already 2 new job postings in charlotte for those positions. Unfortunately consolidations are happening a lot faster.

Option was commute to CLT or find another job

Here's the unfortunate reality- Your job can be moved to another market. You are then eligible for severance. Your LOB is not required to offer the job to you or offer relocation assistance. As others have said, don't move unless that's a city you wanted to be in anyway.

Never relocate unless you really want to be in that location..or you will be stuck in a cesspool alone .

@OP Don’t relocate! Why should you use your hard earned money to relocate this is a game they’re playing with you! I relocated at my expense four years ago to Charlotte, the hub, Worked my fanny off for the past four years, And was laid off along with other BCM‘s July 22 2025. The bottom line is they don’t care about anybody! Stay where you are save yourself the money and find another job as fast as you can
