Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Boxes for equipment/donations/Wellsware showed up. How long now?

Large cardboard boxes and some carts showed up this week at the Barnhart Call Center location in Hillsboro, OR. They have signs posted over the boxes designating each for e-waste, company equipment, donations of personal items, Wellsware, etc. They are set up in multiple hallways. This leads me to some questions:

1 - How long do we have until our 60-days notice now that these boxes have shown up? In that past when we had a remodel or reorganization of seating plan they showed up over a month beforehand.

2 - What do I do with the 2 company provided monitors I have at home? I take public transit to get to the office most of the time and taking them with me to the office for turn-in would be nearly impossible. I have to walk over a mile from the station to the office and there's no way I'm carrying them that distance.

3 - Do I have to ship my laptop back? Is there a way I can hand it over in-office?

4 - Should I start bringing my personal items from my cubicle home now? Will they ship those to us? If I get 60 days non-working notice will I still have access to the building to retrieve them? In the past when they terminated someone, 2 people were assigned to box up the personal items and they were shipped to them.

Thank you all in advance for sharing your advice and experiences

I was displaced. All they wanted was my laptop. They didn’t want the printer, monitors, or docking station.

It has been 3 months and still waiting for the box to be delivered to return laptop. Contacted the Disposal and Logistics group why it is taking so long for them to send the box. This was their reply...

"Due to heavy volumes your requests may take longer to assign then usual."

That pretty much says it all!

Start taking stuff home.

Most areas just want the computers or laptops. Everything else like monitors or keyboards they don't typically want. But as previously mentioned, if they do, they will send a box.

Everything you just described is exactly what they did when they went neighborhood unassigned seating last year for us. If you have an assigned desk you probably won’t for much longer. As far as cuts, who knows

It'll be spelled out in your packet they email to you when you are given your official notice. The laptop is the only thing they really want back to ensure nothing is saved on the drives. The other equipment can be turned in in the office if you want or you can request pre-paid boxes to ship to an e-waste recycler. Otherwise you can keep it or dispose of it yourself. I would start carrying your personal stuff home now since you may still have a few trips back and forth to carry it.

A box is shipped to you to send everything back.

Take home anything you care about now. Very close to shutting it all down. God speed, employees of The Barn. The finish line is very close, don't do anything to jeopardize your severance.

I was told I could keep everything at home except laptop. So I returned that and kept the monitor, keyboard, and two headsets.

1 - Can be any length of time.

2 - Don't tell anyone you have monitors. Did you ever disclose their existence in an inventory? If not keep them. If you want to get rid of them ask and they will send boxes to your house.

3 - You have to ship your laptop back. Again a box will arrive at your house.

4 - you should I start bringing your personal items from the office to your house. Books etc. Your access usually stops 2-3 hours after your meeting.

It was about a month for the Boise service center after those showed up. They will potentially send personal effects home but takes ages for it to actually happen.
For us, our badges and everything was shut down about 30 mins after we told managers we were leaving.
Boxes for home equipment was about two weeks after we were put on 60 day period.

They will send boxes & labels to ship back the computer and monitors. If you have any "special" items, like risers for your monitors or chairs, they can schedule a time to pick them up from your residence. I would start taking personal items home (they still have boxes of personal items from people that were laid off in 2024)

They'll communicate all of that. Just sit tight
