Or is this going to drag on all the way through the end of October? This whole thing has turned into a drawn-out ordeal. And of course, not once have we been told what’s actually happening or what the plan is.

Layoffs continuing through at least early October - maybe longer depending on how the numbers play out.
@a2 I seem to recall it was estimated by some on this board that 8,000 were dejobbed in August. That plus those fired so far in September indicates that 10% is possible. And who knows if 10% is the goal, they could be aiming for more?

@OP We're spending $1B a month in CapEx. It was bound to happen.
It's based on rumors of 10% global count reduction till end of this year. So far, summer+ September cut half of the alleged target total. May be EMEA and other regions receive the same level of sla-ghter like Sep2-3 in NA which is over 3.5k. Otherwise, it will roll through the globe again to meet the target total.
this might be based on when termination dates are in some countries (which are different from notice dates)
