The Nestle culture in leadership is one of dominant male European s-xism. In the U.S. Nestle practices age discrimination, hires European ex-pats in all Senior leadership roles.
Nestle grows market share by buying other companies instead of innovating.

Nestle bottled water business around the world is a telling g example of greed and corruption in local governments to make money from a natural resource (water).

Nestle is a terrible company to work for in the U.S. if you’re American.

Nestle can drain aquifers, use child labor, and poison the planet - no problem. But have a fling with your intern and suddenly the board rediscovers its “values.” Less than a year in the job, stock sliding, and bo-m - the perfect excuse to can him without a golden parachute. Global scandals? Fine. Embarrassing shareholders with an intern? Absolutely unforgivable.

Nestlé, the Swiss multinational and the world’s largest food company, has removed its chief executive, Laurent Freixe, after determining that he engaged in a romantic relationship with a subordinate. The relationship, which was not disclosed, constituted a violation of Nestlé’s code of conduct. The decision came after an internal investigation led by chairman Paul Bulcke and lead independent director Pablo Isla, with assistance from outside legal counsel.

In a statement, Bulcke stressed that the dismissal was necessary to protect Nestlé’s values, governance standards and long-term credibility. He thanked Freixe for nearly four decades of service to the company.

Freixe had only recently been appointed as CEO, less than a year ago, during a period of turbulence for Nestlé. When he took the role, the company was under significant pressure, with its stock down nearly 40 percent from early 2022 highs due to shifting consumer habits tied to the growing use of new weight-loss dr-gs in Europe and the United States. He succeeded Mark Schneider, who had been one of the very few Nestlé leaders hired from outside the company.

Philipp Navratil, a 24-year Nestlé veteran, has been named CEO effective immediately. Navratil started at Nestlé in 2001 as an internal auditor and went on to lead operations in Honduras and Mexico before rising to oversee the company’s global coffee strategy, including brands such as Nescafé and Starbucks. Most recently, he served as CEO of Nespresso and joined Nestlé’s executive board earlier this year.

In his first statement as CEO, Navratil pledged full commitment to the company’s strategy and performance plan, signaling continuity in Nestlé’s long-term direction despite the leadership upheaval.
