Question on 60 days and anniversary

Say you are laid off on a Tuesday after payday. Exactly 61 days later is your work anniversary.

Will you get credit for that extra year? Or does that work anniversary fall outside the notice period?

More simply put does the notice period start the day you are told? Or the next day?

TLDR it’s in the layoff docs how to inform them if you feel you may get scr3wed.

Buddy in layoff process now complained (about terms in general) and they said use the process in agreement to ask for more (pre-appeal). Don’t know all the language but supposedly you can email someplace without it affecting the offer they sent you. Timing su-ks tho as they said do the email right away so you might know if it works before signature required. No update from them on whether response from email beat out their 45 days which will happen soon enough.

Don't be surprised if you DO receive credit. I'd even call the displaced employee line and put the bug in their ear.

People may not like to hear it, but WF has been very understanding and accommodating as I've gone through this for the past 10 months.

FYI: Hire anniversary date relative to notice date is by discrete month. Said another way, if you are noticed 9/1 and your hire date is 9/30, they are both seen as same period in the system. This is important as the calendar month is key. This can be a "bank error your favor" at times.

In your example you miss by a day because day 1 of notice is the day you’re notified. Day 61 you are not an employee.

No, you will not get credit for that YoS where the anniversary is after your notification period. You only get credit for full YoS worked.
