PSG Adjustment EOY

Last post deleted...

Heard that there will be a PSG adjustment at the end of the year to align us with the industry, anyone else hear this? Heard they are doing salary surveys.

Uuuuh, You really don't want to be "aligned with" the rest of the industry, if you catch my drift. You will be in for a rude awakening if you find out how much you are actually worth (or rather NOT worth) on the open market.

I have not seen the “hippots” I know produce anything more than anyone else.
One of the designated people I am aware of, received a lucrative ex pat assignment and after returning to their country of origin, they resigned after getting the opportunity many others would have benefited from. I don’t have much confidence in the managers who the “hipots”, they lack judgement skills.

@sx and they already did that to us in 2023/4, right?

Meanwhile, MW has been getting some outrageous raises. Someone mentioned it’s a let them eat cake vibe. It is. And we know how that went. You can push employees only so much.

It would not surprise me if we had more serious incidents with all the headcount reductions, incompetent and nepotism-driven placements, offshoring and on and on. I just hope no good people get hurt because you know those fu----s in their ivory towers don’t give a rat’s a-s. Look how quickly MW deflected when that platform incident occurred (oh, I warned them and blah blah blah). Zero accountability from that fu---r. Meanwhile people d13d burned to a crisp and the survivors probably wish they had d13d, given their horrific injuries

In addition to the downgrading of PSGs, which has been a signature of all the layoffs rounds historically and today (with the exception of Corporate Affairs this round, thank you LL), they will handle additional salary contraction by lagging inflation rates.

The salary surveys will result in the managers getting increases and the individual contributors getting decreases.
Just another way for the white man to keep us down. Sheesh

This is normal for companies to go through after reorgs. What it boils down to is that PSG 25s that are in jobs that were downgraded to PSG 24s in the latest rounds of layoffs, or similarly ranked jobs, are likely going to go a few years without raises. It's going to be an indirect paycut. Managers that now have massive teams are likely getting large raises. Most everyone else will either not get any raise or it will be very small.

black and white legal way to "adjust" salaries
up or down is another questions

The adjustment will be easy. There will only be promotions for the HiPots. Slowly, this will leave people behind and easy pickings for the next layoff wave.

Yes. MW will get another raise thanks to freeing up all this extra money during the reorganization.

It's about time that CVX realized that they were overpaying useless entitled employees to accomplish little to nothing all day. It's obvious when you read the posts on this site.

Hess engineers make more than chevron peeps for the same level of experience and work. Is it possible we're going to be pleasantly surprised?

Glad we’re finally focused on the right area to become more competitive…squeezing the worker. It’s a tried and true strategy that replaces reserves, increases production, and reduces incidents.

Very clear PSGs are being lowered. Technical PSG26 is a thing of the past. PSG25 the new limit and a clear separation between the managers and technical. It’s worse for the non-US employees who are also facing a PSG cut with technical PSG24 the limit (FL6).

Have they done a salary survey on CEOs? That fu---r MW sure. Ever seems to take the hit of these reorgs. I hope that POS gets poison ivy up his a-s.

@aj I guess it doesn’t make sense to adjust the PSG right after the reorg as many positions already got “regraded” to lower PSG. If they are lowering the pay band then they found a new way to sink morale deeper than a 20k well

As in they will lower either the salary bands and/or PSGs associated with the various roles?

So what’s the +/- % range?

They messed up the whole thing back in 2018 when they did adjustment and a new one would defeat the purpose of structural changes they had been doing. They are reducing promotions and to do that they are capping Jon psg levels. They may adjust salary but not psg.
