Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Att mandated front line managers need to fix employee surveys low scores

This is insulting that the train wreck our c levels created is now our front line manager problem to fix.

You could see this coming. Responsibility for enforcing RTO was shifted to the manager as the first ridiculous policy shift. All of the pressures for performance are being set at the first 2nd line manager while Director and above sit back and will claim ignorance when the level 1/2 employees don't comply with Stankey directives. This protects the Director and AVP levels from recourse. Manager is the scape goat.

Enjoy! Glad I left last year! I saw the pain train coming!

The only fix is cancel RTO. That’s the only way to right this sinking ship

It's all BS and they don't care. I was a sup and would create the action items as required. Then put in some BS progress markers. No one audits it.

Garbage in garbage out.

Yeah, as a manager, I am being asked to come up with a plan of action to address low scoring areas—one of which is the fact that people don’t believe that anything positive results from these employee surveys. I hate this feeling.

I love the direction of this sh---h--- company. Front line doesn't know anything other than what they are told. I never thought I would observe blatant racism in 2025 like what is prevalent in SE NC. The overweight and obnoxious Front line promote and help cover up for one of their own. I have never witnessed so many losers receiving a paycheck for being glorified secretaries. Circle the wagons and the noise will eventually subside but the stink will always remain.

When my manager did this, I simply chalked it up to now giving him a lower score next time also.

All management employees are responsible for promoting and enforcing corporate policies. If in a management role, there is a basic responsibility to support RTO.

This sounds about right. You are responsible to fix it but you are not empowered to fix it. What can possibly go wrong here.

In other news, I sense a pizza party coming on.

Don't leave. Make them fire you and then make them prove they are not treating you differently because of your age/race/gender in court. It will give you a fun thing to work on in retirement, and might net you a 6 or 7 figure settlement.

They want us to fix their problem?

Ok, fire Stankey and McElfresh.

We can start there. I’m not giving any further guidance until those two are gone.

How’s that?

Our managers had a discussion with us about the survey and they had to come up with fixes. I felt bad for them as most of it is out of their control; however, our boss echo’d some of Stanks messaging about if you don’t like the direction, maybe this isn’t the best place for you. I know they have to toe the line, but some of it can discretionary calls at their level. That was really a bad call on their part. Anyways, things aren’t looking good based on some of those discussions. There are going to be a ton of retirements coming (but that’s the goal) and the younger less tenured folks are going to be heading for the door. Oh well, no trying to fix it on our side. We can accept it or leave I guess. I will be leaving.

Att m&ps: deflection and find someone else to blame! I guess they can’t pay billions to avoid accountability on this.

I always thought leadership set the tone but we lack such skills here.
