If you want to get rid of people hiking calling it voluntary severance - look at cutting unnecessary expenses. Starting with the high profile celebrity advertising and then the high end large six figure executive salaries. Both those classes of folks have enough money and that needs to be dropped off the books - immediately

@OP you're totally wrong, those insurance companies also spend big on advertising. It's the agent model thats got to go, they su-k up the majority of the policy endorsement money that isn't put in the coffer for disasters.
@OP Progressive is spending twice as much on advertising as SF. Allstate is spending 50% more. Your comments reflect why you will remain a grunt.
It evidently is not working because we continue to fall behind Progressive. Other companies have cut advertising in order to stay price competitive but we blindly increase spending hoping cost/price will magically take care of itself. its total stupidity.
while I totally agree, those in charge are never going to do anything like this.
more more more for them less less less for us and if we don't like it, we can go.
