Especially those who simply can’t commute. I’ve been hearing all kinds of rumors, but nothing that sounds completely credible.

With better technology they probably can monitor remote activity more closely
My favorite is when pk’s team spent 100k on Adrienne bailon for wal mart talk shop live, for it to get 80k views till this day, and the elabrotate sets they build. Once again no business sense. All smoke and mirrors
@j4 why are we employing workers in the Caribbean?
@hw Agree 100% - We're going into an office to stare at Zoom, it's ridiculous
We have remote workers in the Caribbean so how would that work.
@gk commutes yes and the ability to actually focus and get work done (the office can be loud and distracting, with no available focus rooms), the fact that some of us would just be attending Zoom meetings regardless with our coworkers in other locations (again, in the loud bullpen)….
I’m personally all about going into the office when it makes sense for collaboration but forcing required # of days in just to monitor/ensure productivity is backwards… when most of us can get more done at home.
If you’re all such hard workers (from home), give one legit reason why you don’t want to come back to the office? Just the commute?
@ft how do you see what they’re doing if they’re remote? Take this beef to the one person who wronged you and leave the ones who can and have done it fine for years out of it.
Many remote workers at the company spend their work hours on anything other than work. I see it daily--childcare, elder care, TikTok, etc. There's no reason not to require RTO for everyone. If people don't want to come back, great way to thin the lazy herd.
Buncha narcs and snitches on this board when it comes to remote work.
@f7 if their work is getting done is how you know.
@f6. I agree. How do we know if remote workers are truly working as opposed to working on side gigs?
Remote working increases the risk of fraud.
It’s crazy to have back to office dictated by new owners who had a small unsuccessful operation even though they were in office 4x a week. Press say Skydance was not profitable this year. They are only in charge because of owners dad. Nothing they’ve done would give them the money to buy paramount. It’s a sad joke. Owner overpays/bribes people to be in the picture. Not a good business model.
What su-ks is that there are probably only a small percentage of remotes who are unproductive. Bring them to the office and they will be relatively the same. You’re not gaining anything by making us all come in except losing the productivity that would’ve been happening during what I now commute time
But what really qualifies as a remote worker?? We’re all on zoom all the time, no? I barely go in to the office - no one cares, and it’s a waste of time since we’re on zoom all day. I mean this is an absolute joke.
Remote workers will be no more.
What have you heard?!
