Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

I don't mind the wait

I understand why people are stressing, so am I. But if I had to choose between getting into work and learning I was laid off and having at least some warning to be able to prepare myself both mentally and in other ways, I'd chose the second option. Neither is good, but being blindsided with layoffs still seems worse to me.

I agree some notice is better than nothing notice but nearly 7 months of notice has been way too much for my health. Especially because in this time they never really tipped their hand and people have no idea who or what is really being affected. It made it extremely stressful and difficult to make decisions. It has had an effect on my productivity especially as the time has come closer. I think there are ways to provide additional notice as a courtesy and try to prepare your workforce. This was not that. This was cruel.
