Any guesses on howany CWA jobs the Wireless Pedastal (WiPe) technology will cost? It replaces the traditional copper or fiber between the Pedastal and the house with a wireless box. No more drop to the house and no more need to schedule an installation tech.

Believe it or not, Nokia, the company that made Windows Phones, is now making WiPe instead of phones. The WiPe name could be our internal branding. It wasn't called that on their site.

What company makes the device?
Is it powered from the LEC or is that wireless too? Like those cargo container trackers that used solar and wind power? Or induction like AirGig?
Eventually yes, this will wipe out a lot of jobs. No more need to do home installs. Get a box and plug it in. Or just use the wifi in your device, just login.
Of course outdated and expensive technology is going to be shut down and closed.
This would only replace a drop bury crew at best.
“ Someone needs to change the batteries at the wireless ped”
One of the SVP with part ownership in Jacobs will outsource that function for $800 per visit per quarter, and Jacobs will replace batteries with refurbished batteries to save them money, SVP will get bonus from AT&T and Jacobs.
It's insane that Stankey branded this thing the wipe, because it's supposed to wipe out our jobs!

Sounds like mmWave.
