An example of how not to manage a company

I am really disappointed in the way this company is managed. This can be an example of how not to manage a company. Employees who are still here have constant worries about furloughs and cuts.
To be fair, your position will never be guaranteed in any company, but this is too much... Does the leadership even know how to manage the budget without cuts?

Yes, on missing the revenue forecast. All I see on the sales' FB posts are exotic vacations, side hustles as VRBO owners, and the "me time" on the golf course and ski slopes. If the numbers were being made, then party on, but right now we are working 60+ hours a week to cover for the HC reductions, and waiting for the next slow death of next months' RIF

Why can't sales hit their revenue forecasts?
If a commission payment is 1 cent off, or a delivery a day late, or freight carrier misses a delivery due to an ice storm, a minor glitch in a system that can be solved with a reboot or refresh, a minor quality issue, an expense report paid a day late, or some other silly excuse, sales staff will come un-glued, so now we have to gut the operation.

Just be quiet, dial for those $, make a cold call, ask for a reference from a customer, offer an incentive to close. Just hit the "GD" # once in a while!
