Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

The way ELT is acting and the MS email ... I think Sabre is getting acquried

The town hall was weirdly optimistic and seems like the ELT is not scared. I think it's because of acquisition so they stopped giving AF. What was the vibe you got?

Enough is enough. If it doesn't bring in revenue or isn't required to retain revenue then cut it. Start quarterly 360 reviews. Make the results public. Cut everyone who's in the bottom 10% of the company, not of their team, for 2 consecutive quarters. Cut the lowest performing 20% of the managers. There are far too many managers. The managers remaining should each manage a minimum of 10 people. Low performance is an allowed "cause" for a "firing with cause" that eliminates the requirement for paying severance. Desperate times require desperate measures.

@405 ESG, DEI, I&D, and whatever acronym is used for non revenue generating activities should anyway not have a place in any company, and definitely not one with declining revenues!

Reorganizing the ESG out the door, since Government has cut back on Sustainability initiatives. Cost cutting continues…

No one is going to buy a company with $5bn in debt load and balloon payments coming due soon. They’re going to let Sabre go until they can pay pennies on the stock and make debt deals.

Well the government could take a 100% stake for peanuts.

@15c Well, Ted Cruz and John Cornyn are Texas’ two Senators, and supporters of DJT. if you think it will help in some way, it’s easy enough to send them an email.

Without weighing in on whether it would be right or wrong, the case could be made that (off the cuff): Sabre is a uniquely central and critical, and domestically based, company at the center of the enormously important business and leisure travel ecosystem, that has been damaged by ‘unfair’ foreign competition, global market forces (including COVID) and heavy regulation (which inhibit or preclude business options that would otherwise be available to the company); and, that its demise would harm the US (and Texas) economy, large US-based airlines, the US travel industry, its customers, its employees and the traveling public. I mean, seemed to work for Intel, MP Materials, and who knows who else is next.

Latest rumor is Trump and USA government looking at taking a stake in Sabre to save it. Hopefully the Don can come in and kick out the b-m’s running it now!!

Google could never buy Sabre. Too many regulations in place that would prevent this. Not sure how that rumor got started. TPG will buy the product when Sabre goes bankrupt and move it to hospitality that they bought. Essentially Sabre 2.0

I knew things were bad around the time SM took over but wow stock down 45% in a month? How do the ELT have a job?

Wishful thinking 😂. Since the time Sabre announced a partnership with Google many years ago, everyone is hoping for that! No one will pick a company with declining revenues, debt that is more than annual revenues, and no FCF. But we can only hope…
