I was one of the the members replaced by offshore. They did it right in front of our faces. Sad.
In a culture of finger pointing and blame, outsourcing is a to always have a convenient scapegoat. IT has leadership who’ve built their careers on blaming contractors and vendors, so outsourcing as much as possible makes sense.
IT will be driven into the ground. When a massive Cybersecurity event happens, there will be nobody to clean the mess. I wouldn't be surprised if this major outsourcing push will hurt opsec.
Less than a year from October's cyber event and still exists so much nuance vs documentation, clearly defined SOPs. I wonder what the future brings passing these responsibilities to those with even less knowledge than the on shore teams they're replacing.
