I was just asked, well, told to come in to the office 3 days per week. This is ridiculous as I've been working remotely for years and years. Is anyone else dealing with this too?

How can they enforce this in FCM when the division leader, Joe is in Ohio. We have NOTHING there. I thought RTO is all about collaboration:
They have people in each org whose only job is to manage location strategy. If you are marked remote regardless you are on a list unless leadership wants to grant a prejudicial exception because you are one of their pals. If not, your time will come. If it doesn’t come right away just remember that your name keeps popping up for review
update the email was not intended for me but rather it was intended for the other person on my team. I may continue to work remotely. Sorry everyone, have blessed day!
We will see. I'm not too concerned about a sudden change in course but it's not totally impossible.
I am 100٪ WFH today and until further notice. Quite unlike the simplistic mode portrayed below.
There's always exceptions, but the number of them is rapidly depleting. A couple years ago WF had 27k official remote employees (plus some that were remote off the books), today we have 13k or so. At that rate, how long do you think it's going to last? Not long. Sure, the CEOs personally assistant will have an exception for life, which I'm sure is totally legit (ha), but will you? Wouldn't count on it. Literally every month remote people that thought they were safe are termed or dragged back in. This will continue until the number is near zero, or shart leaves and sane leadership takes over.
Maybe this persons job is not part of the WFH due to Covid. Many people have jobs fully remote and have NEVER worked in office and are suddenly being forced to go into the office. Many of these people don’t even live near an office and are being terminated because of this.
In effect FOR YOU for like 4 years now.
Remote roles are going away FOR YOU and has been known BY YOU for a couple of years.
Don't make the simplistic mistake of confusing what you have to do with what others get to do. It's all about who or what you know and I can already tell that you are pretty much a zero on both.
Have a nice day in the office 😘
This is a joke, right? RTO has been in effect for like 4 years now.
Remote roles are going away and has been known for a couple of years.
And if nothing else, WF has always been 100% transparent and truthful. Keep on believing! 😅
Maybe you have but that's on you. Keep your "we" far away from me.
Yes. Some 'leaders' seem to think that the only path to progress is reached by desperately clinging to the past.
Ask yourself, is WF still forcing a sh-t RTO policy? With that, you will have your answer.
I'm sure it'd be super convenient if everyone just took their medicine as ordered, quietly trundled on in like obedient little worker bots, and worked super hard on cross-functional collaboration until we are laid off.
Nah. I reserve the right to bi--h about any and all sh---y and oppositional polices as I see fit.
The good news is that there's a great big internet out there. If you try real hard, I'd bet you could even find an "RTO is great!" bootlicker group to join. Please be sure to keep us updated, now.
Is this really the RTO b*tch thread again?
Yeah, @OP, two years ago. Don't know how you avoided the mandate this long.
If you truly believe that, I've got a talking chicken for sale. You seem like the perfect buyer.
FRTO / FHY.
Unless you have an HR accommodation, there is no remote job. If you are remote now, it means they are waiting to terminate your role. These are the facts.
They told us all in Q1 2024 that remotes would be gone in next 3-4 yrs. Didn’t you get the memo?
First I’ve heard of this. Was it your direct manager who dropped this bs on you? Mine was out today but I will def ask her tomorrow.
RTO is the last gasp of a dying mentality.
Dude we have been stuck doing it a few years now -
Su-k it up!
No. You were tageted.
