So everyone from management to associate union to nonunion has this question concern.We all see the company pulling back from everything losing customers in every line of buisnesses!!We see them sometimes actively attempting to send our customers to the competition.What is the strategy or is this just no leadership and mismanagement.It does not matter if it’s on wireless side ,the landline business side or residential side.One thing is clear does Verizon want to be in any business or are the few at the top just trying to milk what they can while sending Verizon down the tubes??Serious question because anyone who needs to work a few more years in Verizon or has invested money in Verizon really is concerned

The real leaders of the business are all gone. Found new opportunities and haven’t been scared to jump ship. A lot of people stay because of the unknown. Take the jump, find something that makes you happy. Stop allowing Verizon to control your life.
Sadly all aspects of this company are failing . Now to add to it on the wireline side there will be a contract dispute.And while i see a lot of jokes aggressive talk from both sides not all union / non union are enemies.In fact plenty are friends !!Some have been on both sides of the fence.This next year with a strike will only cause more inner turmoil.The days of all groups working together to move verizon forward have ended due to mismanagement but now they cannot wait to make sure to throw some more unrest into the work place all while they tell all groups we are one big family
The sad part is the job market isn’t what it used to be, and a lot of people — especially those with families — may not find new work easily. The younger directors don’t seem to know how to manage this, and Hans and his team look set on tearing the company down without a clear plan.
Even analysts are starting to admit it, though they’re careful because they need the stock for its dividend. At this point Verizon trades more like a bond or a utility than a growth company. And no matter what Hans says, that’s what it is — a utility with a payout, not a business with vision.
At this point, anyone looking for stability should consider getting out of the telecom business altogether. The industry is shrinking, margins are being defended at the expense of people, and leadership has no clear long-term vision. It’s especially tough for those with families who depend on this income, and that’s why it’s better to start looking for safer ground now rather than wait for the next round of cuts.
If you recall, Wall Street had been pressuring Verizon to get down to around 90K employees. Back in the Seidenberg era, headcount was viewed as a strategic asset to fuel growth. Fast forward to today, with market share slipping, the real target is much lower — closer to 70K, maybe even the low 70s. Verizon is keeping prices high to protect margins while quietly running a low-profile layoff plan so it doesn’t draw attention. The sad part is that the job market isn’t what it used to be, and I’m not sure how many people will realistically find new opportunities. I don’t want to alarm anyone, but Hans and his team seem intent on decimating the company without any clear vision of what comes next.
They want to get down to 75,000 employees domestically. The $20 billion dollar buyout of Frontier is driving this headcount reduction
Verizon is definitely trying to shred headcount. It seems they can’t really move on till they know who’s working for them. “move on” I mean start some new venture. A strike is gonna happen. So the majority of leaderships time is figuring what they gonna do a year from now. After the dust settles from all that Verizon willl be king again.
As many others have mentioned, it is the leadership. Verizon has no real leaders, they are folks who might haven su-king the corp. T-t for long, they are articulate, they might have some expertise here and there from years working with the co. But that's all. For a Co. This big you need leadership that not only knows the verticals but they know how to operate a business and understand the dynamics, with planning strategics, vision for a future that is "right now" and not in 10 years....see the amount of ideas and moves they make.....they are just followers of the latest trend.....if tomorrow T ot T-Mobile announce they will get into growing tomatoes....then Verizon geniuses will start buying garden beds for every office.....the minute they announce the dividend is not sustainable at that price anymore(and it will happen)... The stock will go even deeper into that water....if you are young get your talent somewhere else, smaller companies are in most cases a lot more stable...if you are a few years from retirement....oh boy...may God help us
